It was a dramatic event on Wednesday, October 28, 1818 around 1:00pm when Abigail Adams died at age 74 of typhoid fever. Later, a book containing a copy of the letters she wrote to John Adams, Familiar Letters of John Adams and His Wife, Abigail, was published in memory by their grandson, Charles Francis Adams.
